don’t worry, we’re not going to quite our day jobs. however, the creativity continues in the ostlie house. we decided to make gluten free, dairy free pizza tonight. now, it’s not like pizza hut, or papa murphys or pegasus, but considering we haven’t had pizza in 7 weeks, it was a piece of heaven. plus, it was our first time ever making pizza and it turned out pretty good.  go figure that we both decide to do this while we’re on this diet. insane. i know.  the inspiration came when i saw bob red mill’s gluten free pizza on sale. gosh, i love their stuff. anywho, just follow the instructions on the back of the pizza flour bag.  they even provide options if you don’t want to use eggs, which we obviously opted for.

i made sure to save about 1/4 of spaghetti sauce from earlier this week for the red sauce.  we had italian sausage, almond cheese, tomatoes, onions, garlic, fresh basil, olives, mushrooms and red bell peppers for our toppings. you can add whatever you want to it. however, we tried to keep in mind the pizza hut rule of no more than 5 items per pizza to ensure that it cooks evenly and thoroughly.  the bag makes 2 pizzas so we decided to do a veggie one and a meat one. guess who wanted which?!

it was such a success that we’re planning to make more pizza for lunch this week. uh, that and we have ALOT of left over toppings.  but seriously, i wish that we made pizza from scratch alot sooner than this. it was really fun, creative and easy! if you’re way ahead of us and have great pizza topping suggestions or recipes, send them over our way! we’d love to try them out.
